The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2
The word “Advent” is from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming.” Today people around the world will light the first candle on their Advent wreaths. Christ, the Light of the World, is coming!
