And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7
Mary planned for her baby to be born among family, in a warm and welcoming home. Joseph, too, thought he would be able to provide well for this holy child. Instead, they found themselves in a faraway city with no shelter or friends. What to do? The best they could with what they had: a stable, a manger, a length of swaddling cloth. It was enough.
